Derek Nelson

A Washington State University alumnus, Derek first joined Focal Point in 2013 bringing with him experience building websites and developing brands in the digital space. Over a decade later, he emerged as a creative leader and partner within our ranks, showcasing an ability to conceptualize and execute strategies for a variety of media that include video, motion graphics, search engines, and beyond. It should come as no surprise that Derek is our resident expert in all things digital. He combines his technological knowledge with creativity and problem-solving to drive growth and achieve success for our clients.

Passionate and genuine, Derek believes in forging lasting partnerships with our clients and enjoys working with businesses and organizations that reflect our values. After all, it is the success of our clients for which we are ultimately measured, so it's important that our bond is strong, and that we understand one another to achieve our collective goals.

Outside of the office, Derek plays and collects guitars in addition to being an avid golfer. On and off the course, you can often find Derek surrounded by a swell group of friends and family that include his betrothed—Krista, and friendly Standard Schnauzer—Wellington.
